Frequently asked questions.

    1. Send me a message to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation. During this phone call we will discuss what you are seeking therapy for, scheduling, payment, and any questions you have for me.

    2. If it seems like a good fit we will schedule a first session and get you set up with a client portal account. You will need to review and sign all the required documentation before our first session, this can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes.

    3. Start working together! First (and sometimes second) sessions are very different from later ones as I will get a broad overview of your concerns, history, background, and goals. If at any point either of us decides that it is not a good fit, I will offer referrals to other places you can receive the care you are seeking.

*Since I primarily see clients via Telehealth, you will need access to a computer with video capabilities, reliable internet, and a private space.

  • I accept most plans using the following insurances:

    • Medicaid (Colorado)

    • United

    • Aetna

    • Kaiser

For those who are uninsured or not wanting to use insurance, my fees are sliding scale as follows:

    • Standard rate: Reflective of the time and expenses involved.

      • $125 for 50-minutes

      • $200 for 80-minutes

    • Reduced rate: Designed to accommodate low-income clients and those facing financial hardship (limited availability).

      • $75 for 50-minutes

      • $120 for 80-minutes

Clients are matched to these fee levels based on factors like income, financial challenges, and specific needs.

During your free 20-minute phone consult we will discuss if you are using insurance or sliding scale, and if using the latter, what rate makes the most sense for you based on my availability.

Please note that a diagnoses is required for all healthcare services that bill insurance. Some people do not feel comfortable with this and choose to pay out-of-pocket instead. I treat all clients equitably whether you use insurance or not, however, when using insurance there may be limits to the amount or length of sessions based on your coverage.

  • Most sessions are 45-50 minutes. I offer longer 75-80 minute sessions for those wanting extra time.

I usually recommend weekly sessions to start and then some clients switch to bi-weekly as their needs shift. Occasionally I meet with established clients on a monthly basis if that works better for therapeutic maintenance needs.

Some clients work with me for a short period of time (less than a month), while others choose to continue working together for over a year. Ultimately, the length of time we work together is based on the desired goals, complexity of care, and continued interest in working together. If, at any point, either of us decide that it’s not a supportive fit, I will happily provide referrals to other clinicians.
